Create client side encrypted backups
Automatically backup your data as often as you like
File names, file data and meta data are always encrypted using 256 bit encryption on your device.
No unencrypted data leaves the client; we don't know the names of your files or how many are backed up.
Mandatory request signatures with a pre shared secret
Our remote storage encrypts data a second time using a different key
The client is able to backup at over 400MB/s (on modern hardware), but will also only backup changes resulting in almost instant backups if nothing has changed.
Below is an example of typical backup timesFast backups are important. If they are slow and resource intensive you are less likely to create backups often.
Encryption keys are generated locally in the client and protected with your passphrase, so it's impossible for anyone but yourself to access the data. See the docs for additional details.
The backup client is able to detect duplicate data at the block level, which means that a renamed file or modified large file result in minimal data transfer and reduced storage requirements.
You can move, rename or duplicate files and it won't store the data twice
You can modify large files and only the sections you edit require transferring
Data blocks present in multiple files are only stored once
Each backup archive is like a snapshot of your files which by default are never deleted. Thanks to deduplication each archive only needs to store the changes.
This can give you protection against ransomware and allow you to restore previous or deleted files that are contained in older snapshots.
Older archives can be deleted based on lifecycle rules, freeing up space.
By default the client stores data inside a folder as a series of binary files. Making it suitable for backing up to external media or a cloud storage provider.
We also offer a hosted storage plan referred to as remote storage where the client side encrypted data is streamed directly to our storage servers.
Restore data anytime at no additional cost
Get automated alerts when your backups are not running
When using our remote storage you are able to backup securely over an insecure / secure connection that has been MitM. This is because only authenticated encrypted data leaves the client that the server can authenticate with a pre shared secret.
Every request is signed with a pre shared secret
Server enforces request signatures
Since your data is encrypted client side with keys only you have access to, it's impossible for us to provide some features.
Only a client with your secrets can view files inside a backup
You can't create a link to share a file(s) in your backup
If you lose your passphrase / key we can't recover it, you must make a new backup
Prevent data loss, save time and money.
